Dr. Jarrett T. Chandler Endowed Scholarship for Radiography
In September 2011, Rowan-Cabarrus celebrated the 34-year career of Dr. Chandler as he left a legacy of generosity and positivity. Dr. Chandler began his career as an instructor of Radiologic Technology in 1977. Since that time, he served the college in numerous roles, including Assistant to the President and Associate Dean of Human Resources, Dean of Instruction, Dean of Personnel and Administration, Executive Vice President, Vice President of Advancement, and Interim President. On behalf of the college, he formed partnerships with colleagues and community members to transition the college’s name to Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. In 1991, Dr. Chandler facilitated the incorporation and growth of the RCCC Foundation that exists to raise and manage funds and enhance relationships to support the work of Rowan-Cabarrus. The college raised in excess of $25 million during his tenure. In September 2011, the community celebrated his many years of service by contributing funds to
establish this scholarship in his honor.
